TATTOO AFTERCARE

  • The Life of Your Tattoo is dependent upon the care it receives in the first few days. You should keep the tattoo covered with the bandage for at least 1 hour. At this time remove the bandage, if the gauze sticks to the skin, wet the area down with cool water and remove the gauze carefully. Once the tattoo is exposed, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Be sure to remove all surface blood and rinse all remaining soap. At this point pat lightly to dry.
DO NOT RE-BANDAGE THE TATTOO OR APPLY VASELINE, ANY PETROLEUM JELLY, AND DO NOT USE ALCOHOL
  • Do not rub or scratch at the tattoo. With clean hands, apply a light coat of Bacitracin, A&D Ointment, or Tattoo Goo a minimum of 3 times a day for up to 3 to 4 days only. These ointments can be purchased at any local drug store (or the Goo at our studio). Do not let the tattoo dry out.. If a rash occurs discontinue use. If the rash persists a handlotion such as Lubriderm can be applied. The Tattoo will naturally develop a layer of dry skin, let this fall off naturally
  • DO NOT PICK AT THE TATTOO OR EXPOSE IT TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR 2 WEEKS. DO NOT SWIM FOR 1 WEEK OR SOAK IN A POOL, SAUNA OR BATH
  • After the dry skin has fallen off there will be a period of adjustment for the skin. It is advisable to apply a hand lotion.
